History is not Silent is a non-formal education exchange project prepared within the Youth in Action Programme (DG EAC). Participants from the Czech Republic and Finland focused on the topic of media and oral history.
Oral history as a methodological tool for recording life story interviews and narratives with eyewitnesses of historical events is the bottom line of the whole exchange. Cultural programme of the event and actual recording took take place during a one day trip to the Vojna Memorial Museum (near the town of Příbram) introducing the repressive character of the Czechoslovak communist regime (1948-1989). The whole activity provided knowledge transfer in the field of media and oral history as well as introduction in recent history of both participating countries from the perspective of youth.
